A 35-year-old woman from Oise appeared at the Beauvais court for repeated fraud against at least 56 people in two years. The case is adjourned until January 10.
“You know, I’m not in a good place!” claims Marine B. in order to convince the court not to leave her in detention. However, prevention is not minimal and victims are numerous.
The 35-year-old woman was arrested on Monday, December 2 after a search of her home before being placed in police custody and then presented in immediate appearance on December 4 for repeat fraud against no less than 56 victims in two years. The damage would amount to more than 30,000 euros. “People paid for something they never received”summarizes the president of the court.
“It’s a gear”
If the file is referred to January 10 2025so that the court takes the time to notify each of the victims, Marine B. still explained her actions, in a tearful manner. “I recognize the facts, if I did all that, it was because I no longer knew what to do, I was harassed, posted on the networks, I no longer had a choice”.
According to the defendant, following her first conviction for the same acts of fraud, a victim who had not, at the time, filed a complaint, “would have blackmailed” pushing her to commit scams again on Leboncoin. “The person tracked me down and sent me the numbers of my entire family. It’s a gear!”
The public prosecutor, Frédéric Trinh, requests the placement in pre-trial detention of Marine B. while waiting for the next hearing because “the risk of repetition of the facts”. He specifies: “I remind you that she has already committed these acts for three years. Obviously, the previous conviction did not serve as a lesson to him”.
Maître Carteret, lawyer for Marine B., points out the vulnerability of his client, who is also pregnant: “She is psychologically fragile, a judicial control with an obligation of care would be more appropriate, especially since she cooperated without difficulty with the investigators”. Convince, the court likes them under judicial supervision with an obligation to report to the gendarmerie and an obligation to provide care. She leaves the Beauvais court free.
