This Sunday, December 1 (1:45 p.m.), Boulogne-sur-Mer hosts AS Beauvais Oise at the Stade de la Libération during the 8th round of the Coupe de France. Ten months after their last meeting in National 2 (1-1), the two clubs find themselves with opposing dynamics. The USBCO, which now plays in National 1, occupies fourth place in this championship with 21 points gleaned in 12 days, just three lengths behind leader Nancy (24 points).
The Boulonnais have, in their ranks, the National's top scorer. With his seven goals scored since the start of the season, Thibault Rambaud is taking the reds and blacks to the top. He scored on November 16, 2024, the second in an easy victory (0-3) against Houilles in the previous round of the Coupe de France.
-For Beauvais, the situation is more complicated, on and off the field. Only 12th out of 16 in Group C of National 2, the Beauvaisiens are looking for confidence. Therapy started by his new trainer Romain Elie, who made the conscious choice to rejuvenate his team, must confirm himself in Boulogne. In the previous round, the Bloods and Snows won 1-0 against US Chantilly after a hard-fought match, which both teams finished with 10 men. The only goal of the match was scored by Clark N'Sikulu, native of Lille.
AS Beauvais Oise was placed on Tuesday November 26 in “stay of proceedings” by the DNCG, the financial policeman of French football. The club has additional time to provide the necessary documents.
Beauvais wants to take advantage “magic” of the cup to achieve a prestigious victory which would be a brightening in the darkened sky of the club.
A match to follow this Sunday, December 1, 2024 on France 3 Hauts-de-France, commented by Matthieu Rappez and Emilie Montcho at the edge of the field.
