A 20-year-old young man who had just been released from prison was arrested during the night from Monday to Tuesday in Morangis (Essonne), following a refusal to comply. The suspect was driving a stolen car and had a loaded handgun, it was learned News17.
Shortly after 3 a.m., a crew from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) ordered a motorist to stop for a check, at Avenue de la Croix-Boisselière. The driver, driving a Peugeot 3008, with several passengers on board, refused to stop and stepped on the accelerator. A chase began. About two kilometers further, the fugitive abandoned his car near the town stadium. The occupants of the 3008 ran away. The driver took the opportunity to get rid of the handgun he had on him. The officials arrested him and recovered the 9 mm caliber firearm. The other suspects managed to escape.
Released from prison five days early
Checks showed that the 3008 had been reported stolen by a rental company since November 25, in Seine-Saint-Denis. In the passenger compartment, the police discovered hoods. A search was carried out at the suspect's home, located in Bondy (Seine-Saint-Denis). The police discovered an old M3 type submachine gun, 45 caliber stocked as well as two bottles filled with gasoline.
The young man's police custody was extended this Tuesday. Released from prison on November 28, the suspect must be referred to the Évry court at the end of the day.
