Opened on July 20, the Rose café is already a real success. Léa Leguélinel and Erwan Masson, the management couple, own already a small clientele of regularshappy to be able to benefit from a new concept in Granville.
The first coffee shop in Granville?
This concept is that of a “coffee shop”, a place that specializes in hot and cold drinksparticularly coffee-based, to consume on site or to take away. “We have traveled a lot each on our own, in Europe or in France, and in the big cities, coffee shops are very popular, so we said to ourselves: why not develop this concept in Granville,” says Léa.
Indeed, there are numerous tea rooms and restaurants in the coastal town, “but there was no place to buy ground coffee on site, where you could also taste it first,” says Erwan.
A very original card
The specificity of this coffee shop is also its very, very, original menu! As for drinks, you will find, among other things, hot chocolate and rose water matchaas well as a pink chai latte (with spices), among the many nods to the city's emblematic flower.
Generally speaking, young Manchois draw a lot of inspiration from the trends found on social networks.
We think of pumpkin spice latte (with pumpkin and cinnamon), very popular in autumn-winter, or with croffle, a croissant – “from the day before, when possible” – pressed in a waffle iron, and served savory or sweet depending on the toppings.
Local and/or French products
Like the croissants, the desserts that are not homemade at the Rose café always come from the Champs Libres bakery, located a few meters away.
Moreover, the managers work as much as possible with local merchants, such as Le Carnaval des fromages, in Granville. “For the rest, in catering as for the grocery section, it’s 100% French brands, except perhaps for bananas,” assures Léa, all smiles.
Concerned about his ecological impactthe couple wanted to offer muesli, coffee (in beans, possibility to grind on site), which you can buy in bulk. Léa concludes: “Even for the dishes, don’t hesitate to bring your own containers. »
