More than 24 hours after the events, the emotion is still strong. Monday December 2, 2024, Anna D. died in a tragic traffic accident, on the D905, in Gevry (Jura). The 24-year-old young woman was a student at the medical faculty of Besançon (Doubs) and had recently joined the Dole hospital (Jura) as an intern in the emergency department. It was on his way to his workplace that the tragedy took place.
In recent hours, tributes and reactions have multiplied regarding this accident. Joined by France 3 Franche-Comté, the Louis-Pasteur hospital in Dole greeted a young woman “who arrived at the hospital six months ago and at the beginning of November in the emergency room. She had already been able to be appreciated humanly and professionally by her intern colleagues and senior doctors.“.
“She was a brilliant student, ranked in the first 200 places in the medical competition.” continues Charlotte Fernandes, communications manager at Dole hospital. “We will publish a press release saluting his memory with the faculty of medicine of Besançon and the ARS Bourgogne-Franche-Comté“.

A psychological unit has been set up at Louis-Pasteur hospital to deal with this situation, “who has experienced many colleagues” they explain to us within the health establishment. While the themes of work overload among medical students are in the news, the hospital management told us that Anna “had not worked the day before and was going to the hospital. According to the first elements, fatigue did not cause the accident“.
In Arbois (Jura), where the young woman's parents still live, the sadness is also enormous. “We are in shock, we should not die at 24” testifies the mayor of the city, Valérie Depierre. “It is a dramatic event. This is already the 35th death in an accident on the Jura roads in 2024. A sad toll which already exceeds that of 2023 (29 people dead).
