The work will begin next January and be completed by the end of June 2025 at the latest. Total cost of the operation: 600,000 euros from the Metropolis budget.
The development of the street will be very “qualitative” as all the speakers recalled. Because the sector is located in a remarkable heritage site, between the medieval village and the 17th century Ombreval castle.e century and the materials used will be high-end.
Limestone stones and planters
The roadway will be made of Lyonnais cobblestones and limestone slabs. There will be benches, also made of limestone, and large raised planters all along the street.
Traders will have space to install terraces there. Place du 8-Mai will also be made pedestrian. But be careful: if its development is well planned in the overall project, it will only be carried out in a second phase (after 2026) and with an additional envelope of money. No parking spaces will be removed there.
