We no longer present the Lycée Etienne-Restat but especially the CFA of Sainte-Livrade which are a reference for future farmers.
Recently, students from the agricultural high school visited a family farm producing exceptional meat, the “Angus” breed.
The Angus breed is a beef breed that produces meat that is particularly appreciated by gourmets, finely marbled, very tasty, with exceptional grain and finesse!
The high school final year students therefore visited the family farm of Alban Cadiot-Glorit, (apprentice at CFA Agricole 47), the Gaec du Bon Air, in Monclar-d'Agenais. It is on this farm that the Angus breed is raised organically: a self-sufficient and rapidly changing farm. This visit ended with a visit to the butcher shops in the area distributing this exceptional meat: “Viandes de Terroir” in Casseneuil, but also the Coccinelle Supermarket in Sainte-Livrade.
Local meats, from the producer to the consumer. But what's better than a good beer (in moderation!) to accompany this succulent meat?
It is in the sector such as the BTS Anabiotec, (Higher Technician Certificate in Organic and Biotechnological Agricultural Analysis), that the students participated in a beer production workshop. Brewing and hopping (this is what gives the aroma to the beer) are part of the course allowing them to produce a 100% Lot et Garonnaise beer. Carrying out analyzes on beer: color, sugar, acidity, bitterness, alcohol, CO2, etc. Beer making no longer holds any secrets for high school students…
Some brewers produce beer in Lot-et-Garonne, but the particularity of that produced at the high school is that the hops used in its manufacture come from the high school's own farm. Two varieties of hops are used to give this inimitable scent to this Lot et Garonnaise beer, Nugget hops for bitterness and Cascade hops for aromatization.
Please note in your calendars the post-baccalaureate open day on Saturday January 25.
