The Country Hall, normally slated for demolition, should see its #respite extended until June 2025

In April, ULiège and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation announced the creation of a multidisciplinary sports center of excellence in Sart-Tilman. This involved the demolition of the Country Hall to build an indoor velodrome in its place (and a new Olympic swimming pool at the sports centers near the University Hospital).
In July, the project was postponed for 6 months, allowing events to continue to be organized until December 30.

This deadline should be extended by another 6 months. The new government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is in fact positioning itself on this issue. Resources have already been provided for the maintenance of the site, in view of this upcoming decision, we are told by Minister Galant. Reservations for events are therefore theoretically still possible until June 2025, according to the designated curator. (The structure is indeed still in liquidation.)

6-month reprieve: Planned demolition of Country Hall could be #reconsidered
