As part of its winter plan, launched at the beginning of December, the City of Paris offers accommodation and meals for the homeless and destitute.
The cold has set in in Paris for several weeks already. The city has therefore once again launched its “winter plan” to help the homeless. This year, and while 3,492 people without accommodation were recorded in the capital during the last Night of Solidaritythe town hall continues its commitment to accommodation and food.
500 additional meals per day
The Suzanne Valadon high school, in the 18th arrondissement, opened in December 2023, currently accommodates 120 people. The Goubet school, in the 19th, also opened its doors to offer shelter solutions for 50 people. The implementation of a Winter Emergency Plan also makes it possible to accommodate 80 isolated men. Their pet is also welcome.
“Throughout the winter, additional shelter and food aid measures reinforce those in place all year round,” specifies the City of Paris. These measures will also make it possible to distribute 500 additional meals each day, over the four months of opening.
Sit-down breakfasts are offered at the Climate Academy every day of the week for 100 people. Seated dinners will take place occasionally in the Emeraude restaurant in the 20th arrondissement.
Other seated dinners are planned at the ASPP restaurant at City Hall, managed by La Chorba, for 250 people per evening. A system which reinforces the work of the numerous associations which intervene throughout the year.
