The first Telethon took place in 1987 in Rion-des-Landes and it was still very important at the dawn of the 21st century.e century. It hasn't been the same for several years. As proof, it did not take place in 2018, due to lack of goodwill. But on December 7, 2019, the Entente associative Rionnaise (EAR) managed to once again mobilize eight associations out of an almost constant number of around fifty volunteers.

The Covid then passed through there. Almost the same volunteers took up the torch for a beautiful day last year, but there was no crowd at their side.

For this 2024 edition, knowing that the rescue center organized for its part, on November 30, its usual 100-kilometer bicycle circuit by collecting the contents of the ballot boxes of the municipalities crossed, it took a reminder and two meetings of the office of the 'EAR, in the Municipal Council room, to harmonize the ideas of the representatives of the interested sections: Landes and Bruyères, ballroom dancing, boxing, judo, C Koi Ca, Panturon, Youth Rionnaise sports cycling, Rionnais bullfighting circle and rugby.

They will have discussed calmly with the EAR office (1) to set up a program which should make it possible to offer a range of activities likely to bring some subsidies to this good cause.

(1) Christian Bet president, Maryline Durou secretary, and Pierre Ferreira treasurer.
