A preliminary investigation was opened several months ago by the interdepartmental judicial police service of the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police of Gard for acts of drug trafficking.
The investigations, particularly technical, directed investigators to the possible transport of narcotics during the night of November 26 to 27. On November 27 in the early morning a truck was actually intercepted at the Remoulins toll gate, while its trailer contained 720 kilos of cannabis resin.
Two men aged around twenty and from Vaucluse were arrested. Both were unknown to the courts.
Saturday November 30, the Public Prosecutor of Nîmes opened a judicial investigation into charges of detention, transport, acquisition, offer or transfer, importation of narcotics, participation in a criminal association, as well as possession of a category A weapon and b.
The two individuals were indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.
