ENVIRONMENT / They concern the Gyr in Vallouise-Pelvoux, the Gyronde in Vigneaux and the Durance in Argentière la Bessée

Three emergency projects completed on the waterways of Pays des Écrins. They were carried out within the framework of the GEMAPI competence, of the Community of Communes of Pays des Écrins, after the various floods which affected the territory during the year. Work that had to be carried out in special circumstances: taking into account the constraints of the weather and environmental schedules.
Thus, the Gyr in Vallouise Pelvoux, which had moved to the left bank and which was close to homes, was rechannelized to the right bank. While large deposits of materials are found in the area, the community specifies that the sediment management plan will make it possible to launch work in 2025.
On the Gyronde aux Vigneaux side, erosion had strongly affected the right bank near the Courounba campsite. Concrete groynes were extracted as well as material deposits which were in the middle of the bed.
Concerning the work on the Durance at Argentière la Bessée, because of the excessively high flow rates, the work to restore the foundations of the bank could not resume following the flood last September. However, the work to restore the cavity has been carried out.
