For the third year, the Argenton library hosted a film debate, as part of the Alimenterre Festival, an event on sustainable and inclusive food.
Taken up at the departmental level, it offers nine documentary films each year. Seventeen screenings took place in the Indre department, including three organized by the community of communes: at the Chantôme farm, at Pont-Chrétien and at the Rollinat library in Argenton. The evening of November 20, 2024 was organized jointly by the community of communes (CDC), Adar (Association for agricultural and rural development) – Civam (Initiative centers for promoting agriculture and the rural environment) and the CPIE. It was a documentary about the privatization of water in Chile.
“Thinking about the food and agriculture of tomorrow”
In order to make the evening more fun and in harmony with the spirit of the operation, the session was preceded by a soup prepared collectively, from unsold or damaged vegetables, provided by local producers relayed by the Cagette and fork and Les Potagers de Velles, under the watchful eye of cook Robert Detilleul.
The debate which followed the screening was moderated by Sic (Citizen Traveling Service). The Parliament of Creuse, an active citizen body for the preservation of water quantity, the EPTB of Vienne (territorial public basin establishment) and Benjamin Fauduet, farmer in Celon, intervened. The debate focused on water as a public resource and the human impact on this resource, starting from the cultivation of the avocado in Chile.
