What is the link between the Salon du chocolat and the theater? A priori none. Unless we follow the journey of the young Langrese Jen (Jennifer Bailly). Encounter.
Mid-November, a completely normal start to the weekend for Jennifer Bailly who comes to recharge your batteries for a few days in Langres, at mom and dad's house. Normal, well not quite! Because for the young woman, the rhythm of the rehearsals of the play that she will play in the city of Diderot at the start of the 1is and March 2 speeds up.
However, during a break, she returns to his rich journey : « Born in Langres, it is here that I did all my studies, up to the Baccalaureate, before joining a business school in Troyes. Holder of a bachelor's degree in management, I completed an end-of-study internship in Paris, at the Salon du Chocolat ».
An organization that she subsequently joined and within which she climbed all the ranks, to becoming the current director ! A titanic effort to organize, at the Porte de Versailles, a show which welcomes nearly one hundred thousand visitors, as was the case at the beginning of this month. An opportunity, for the young Haut-Marne resident, to find knowledgelike on the stand of… Langres chocolatier Maxime Henry!
Theater since middle school
And then, on the theater side? “ I have always been passionate about theater. So much so that during my middle school years, then high school, I always took the option and followed the workshops, among others those set up by the literature professor Jean-Pierre Desenne. In addition, I was nourished by the rich local programming. A passion that continued throughout my studies », emphasizes Jen.
By a happy combination of circumstances, barely arrived in Paris, she met Lilian Lloyd, without knowing thata long theatrical complicity would unite them. In fact, the flow went so well between them that he suggested that Jen join Amathéa, an amateur company that was close to him.
Like brother and sister
Furthermore, very prolific, Lilian Lloyd who has nearly 80 pieces in authorship (some of whom are played by Virginie Lemoine), often associates Jennifer with her projects. A complicity which even led, a few years ago, to Jenet Lilian performing for a month at festival d’Avignon « right in front of the fire station, which is the residence of the Champagne-Ardenne troops », laughs the young woman.
Creative complicity at the service of the stage
Thus, over the years, a dozen collaborations were born, including the next one will see the light of day in preview in Langresin a few months. “ This piece will in fact be the last in a triptych imagined by Lilian. In the first part (Like a father) he played my father, in the second (Happy birthday anyway!), we were almost lovers and in the next one (Room for two), we will be half-brother and sister “, says Jen.
A work that gradually takes shape during the ralmost monthly residences that the two artists perform on Lingonian soil. This piece is particularly close to my heart because it is a bit of our story. I always thought of Jen as the little sister I always wanted to have. In fact it's a funny poetic comedy, set against the backdrop of an imaginary road trip… » summarizes Lilian without obviously saying more!
While specifying that the role of his ''little sister'' is specially tailor-made for the one he affectionately calls “the Jewel of Langres”. This piece, which looks each spectator straight in the eye, without filter, will subsequently continue a long journey (as was the case for the first two parts) after having delighted the Langres public.
However, Jennifer Bailly hopes that Lilian will offer her other roles. Especially since she always and surely even more wants to skillfully combine the sweetness of chocolate… with that of theater !
Good to know His next play De la place pour deux will be performed on March 1 at 8:30 p.m. and March 2 at 4 p.m. at the Théâtre Michel Humbert.
