Por the last session of the year, the judges of the Landes criminal court will successively focus on five cases, each studied for two days, involving men accused of rape. Four were carried out by minors close to them and the last by an acquaintance. All these Landais, aged between 29 and 62, were in pre-trial detention until their trial.
December 2 and 3
This Monday, a man, born in Bayonne and who will be 62 years old this month, must answer for rape of a little neighbor. Above all suspicion, this neighbor, described as kind and helpful, is accused of attempted sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl, whom he used to bring to college at the same time as his son. During the investigation, two other teenage girls were identified. In addition to the touching mentioned by one, the other denounces rapes committed by this Capbretonnais, in his home and his car. Confronted with the accusations of the three young girls, who are not dating, the father does not give an explanation and accuses them of lying. By digging into this pruner's past, investigators discovered that he had already been convicted of sexual violence against his ex-partner's daughter, then aged 11 to 13.
December 4 and 5
Faced with increasingly frequent scarifications and suicidal thoughts, a 14-year-old student decides to empty her bag, in October 2022, to an educational assistant at her college. She claims to have been the victim of sexual assaults by her stepfather, her mother's husband, since she was in first grade. The preliminary investigation is entrusted to the Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse brigade and the cell dedicated to child victims. It was only after his fourth custody hearing that this 62-year-old restaurateur finally admitted to having offered to touch his daughter-in-law, tending to minimize the rapes. Since March 2023, he has been in pre-trial detention.
December 6 and 9
The only file between adults of the session stems from a call to the Aire-sur-l'Adour gendarmes. On August 13, 2021, they were contacted by a woman in distress. Aged 38, she was found in a daze, with a wound in her mouth and scratches on her body. She accuses the son of her next door neighbor of having forced her to perform oral sex. She specifies that she bit her attacker, who punched her in the face. The 29-year-old man, temporary worker at the RSA, denies any sexual relations. Although he was once placed under judicial supervision, this Landais, already convicted five times, was placed in pre-trial detention in February 2024 following multiple breaches of his judicial supervision.
December 10 and 11
In June 2023, a 13-year-old girl, supported by her classmates, broke the law of silence and denounced her father's actions to her school in the south of Landes: repeated rapes. This 46-year-old baker takes advantage of the mother's absence to abuse his daughter. The older sister, suffering from a mental handicap, would also have been the target of their father for almost three years. He describes himself “as a sex addict” and admits all the facts about his two daughters. He explains that he saw his daughters as “little women”, not as children.
December 12 and 13
Fear is the driving force that pushes a 17-year-old girl to enter a gendarmerie in the north of Landes, in August 2022. She is not afraid for herself, no – it is too late – but for her 6-year-old sister . Doubt has crept in since the child was found with her pants inside out, while their father was taking care of her alone. For ten years, the eldest has silently endured regular rapes when their mother leaves for work, in the house or in the trunk of the car. The 43-year-old agricultural worker admits to having abused his daughter “whenever he could”, whom he recognized at the age of 10 months, and confirms having touched the younger girl. In his defense, this man of Spanish nationality explains that he was sexually abused at the age of 6.
