The mobilization promises to be strong, this Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Carcassonne, in Aude. Three farmers' unions call for demonstrations. The department prefecture considers that the declared demonstration can “result in risks of disturbance to public order”. It has therefore taken measures to strengthen security.
A decree dated November 26 prohibits “the circulation of tractors and agricultural machinery”, this Saturday, November 30, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., in the towns of Carcassonne and Trèbes. The transport of hydrocarbons and fireworks is also prohibited all day, in order to avoid any incidents.
Two other decrees signed aim to authorize the use of drones by law enforcement, as we can read on the prefecture's X account:
According to the Aude Winegrowers' Union, around 4,000 farmers could converge on Carcassone this afternoon.
This call for general mobilization was launched by the Aude Winegrowers' Union, the FDSEA 11 and the Young Farmers, relayed throughout Occitanie in particular via social networks:
The meeting takes place at 3 p.m. in front of the prefecture gardens, the starting point for a possible parade.
