The angry taxis intend to block the entrances to Lyon, with the reinforcement of colleagues from the Loire.
The Rhône prefecture is calling on motorists to postpone their trips because this Monday, from 5 a.m., the following points will be blocked by taxis:
• On the M6, at the Valvert interchange (Tassin-la-Demi-Lune).
• At the Noeud des Îles interchange (A42-A46-Rocade Est).
• A43, near Saint-Priest Porte-des-Alpes.
• At the interchange between the A7 and the A450.
• On the A7, near the interchange with the southern urban boulevard (D301).
During the day, these blockages will end with snail-like operations up to Place Bellecour in Lyon.
Since the demonstrators will come from all over the region, several key axes will experience significant slowdowns from 4 a.m.:
• A7 motorway from the Vienne-Reventin toll gate
• A43 motorway from the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier barrier
• A42 motorway from Ambérieu-en-Bugey
• A47 motorway and national road 88 from Saint-Etienne, Montbrison and Haute-Loire
• A89 motorway from Roanne
The objective is to denounce the draft new 2025-2030 agreement linking the profession to the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam). The text provides for a reduction in pricing and plans to allow taxis to transport up to eight people at the same time, which would degrade the service offered to patients/customers.
Note that this Monday, no patient transport will be carried out in the Rhône by striking taxis, in order to put pressure on the government.
The prefecture on alert
For its part, the State makes a firm statement, specifying “that no lasting blockage will be accepted. Consequently, at least one lane of traffic must be systematically kept free to allow the passage of vehicles likely to be blocked as well as that of emergency vehicles or internal security forces. even, no action to filter access to hospitals will be tolerated”.
“In the event of non-compliance with these commitments made by the organizers, the police will intervene to put an end to the disturbance of public order”promises the Rhône prefecture.
Morning blocking operations must be repeated until Thursday inclusive.
