A serious one road accident occurred this Saturday, November 30, 2024, around 2:30 p.m., on the D1036old national 36, near the town of Crisenoy. At the intersection with the road leading to Champdeuil, a light vehicle collided head-on with a small dump van transporting cut wood.

The impact was fatal for the driver of the car, a man aged over 80, who did not survive his injuries. The young driver of the van, aged 18, was seriously injured. Suffering from multiple fractures, he had to be extricated from his vehicle by the emergency services, an operation which lasted several hours due to the complexity of the intervention. He was then rushed to hospital.

Judicial investigation in progress

The consequences of this accident also disrupted traffic. The extrication operations, cleaning the ditch and evacuating the vehicles required long hours of intervention. At the end of the afternoon, the road was still closed to traffic.

The Chaumes-en-Brie brigade, supported by reinforcements from the company and the Melun motorized brigade, took charge of managing the accident. A judicial investigation has been opened in order to determine the precise circumstances of the tragedy.
