At 5:30 p.m. this Friday, November 29, emergency services were called to intervene in a very serious traffic accident, in the town of Echauffour (Orne).
On departmental road 932, the axis linking Echauffour to Ste-Gauburge, near the place called Fumeçon, two light vehicles collided and the toll was very heavy. The very violent confrontation caused the death of a person in the first vehicle, while the other occupant was also injured.
In the other vehicle, there were two victims with minor injuries. According to initial observations, the vehicle coming from Echauffour left its lane, colliding with the vehicle in front.
An already dark year in Orne
Ten firefighters from the emergency centers of Merlerault, Gacé, L'Aigle (Orne) and Courtomer intervened, as well as the Smur de L'Aigle and the gendarmerie who gathered the elements necessary for the investigation.
At the end of October 2024, the road caused the deaths of 20 people in Orne. 21 deaths were recorded in 2023 and 24 in 2022.
