The Drôme prefecture published a press release on Friday, November 29 in the evening in which it was indicated that the prefect, Thierry Devimeux, “takes note” of the decision of the administrative court of Grenoble which suspended “the prefectural decree of 25 November 2024 prohibiting gatherings on public roads this Saturday, November 30 in Romans-sur-Isère, Bourg-de-Péage, Crépol and Valence. » Reference is made here to the demonstrations of the ultra-right and the ultra-left planned almost simultaneously this Saturday in two separate places in Romans, one year after the tragic death of young Thomas Perroto in Crépol in November 2023.
As it stands, the prefecture has decided to take several measures “to ensure the safety of all”.
Thus, from Saturday November 30 at 8 a.m. to Monday December 2 at 8 a.m., the prefect of Drôme prohibited, by prefectural decree:
– The transport of acid and flammable, chemical or explosive products;
– The distribution, takeaway, purchase, possession and transport of fuels in any transportable container;
– The carrying and transport of weapons, ammunition and objects that could constitute a weapon by destination;
– The purchase, sale, possession, transport and use of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles.
In the same press release, the prefect “calls for the responsibility of everyone to demonstrate calmly and with respect in order to avoid any excess”.
He specifies: “Traffic difficulties are expected tomorrow (Saturday November 30) in the town center of Romans-sur-Isère. It is advisable to avoid this area and postpone non-essential travel. The routes of the gatherings planned for tomorrow can be consulted on the prefecture's social networks. »
