Spanish police have dismantled a network of “narcodrones” which operated between Spain and Morocco after an investigation which lasted 1 year. The drones used by this mafia were manufactured in Ukraine and transported by road to southern Spain.

Drug traffickers having no longer had the chance to transport drugs by traditional land and sea routes between Morocco and Spain due to the increased vigilance of the security services of the two countries, have chosen to move towards this new mode. technology to operate their Hashish deliveries.

The organization dismantled in Algeciras by the Spanish police had attempted to transport up to a ton of hashish. These drug traffickers used large homemade drones with the capacity to transport around 10 kilos of hashish in each flight and a range of more than 50 kilometers.

The network acted as a transporter between the two countries, and once the shipments arrived, they were then offered to criminal organizations specializing in the sale of drugs locally in Spain.

The police operation resulted in a dozen arrests, seven of whom are already incarcerated during another operation. The Spanish police carried out six searches in Algeciras and Marbella, as part of an investigation which benefited from the collaboration of Europol and the police authorities of Ukraine and Poland.
