Too bad because the good weather is already here THURSDAY, will be maintained.
Indeed tomorrow Friday the sun will dominate unchallenged. Maximum temperatures rise around +10/+15 degrees around 1500 meters and +5/+9 degrees around 2500 meters!
No change SATURDAY with clear skies and great mildness since temperatures remain at the same level as those observed the day before.
Sundaythe only change lies in the presence of a thin veil of high clouds with virtually no impact on the feeling of good weather. It is barely less mild but we will still note +10/+14 degrees around 1000 meters and +6/+8 degrees around 2000 meters. Values remaining particularly high for the season.
Mondaya slightly disturbed passage is expected in the afternoon over the West of the range timidly reaching the East of the range in the following evening/night. The rain-snow limit would be around 2300 then 1700 meters but the accumulation looks modest. To be continued in our next article there too…
Southern Alps:
The first station (Montgenèvre) will therefore open its doors this weekend. Elsewhere, skiing promises to be difficult as the coat is so thin.
The disturbance affecting the Northern Alps today THURSDAY does not concern the massif. The sun dominates despite some cloudy overflows on the edge of Savoie and Isère.
Fridaygreat weather on the agenda. Only Haut-Verdon could observe low cloud banks. Maximum temperatures are high, reaching +10 to +14 degrees around 1000 meters and +6 to +8 degrees around 2000 meters.
Thanks to a 0 degree isotherm (altitude where zero degrees is reached) rising towards 3600/3800 meters, as the map below shows: temperatures will gain another 1 to 2 degrees SATURDAY and will be particularly high for the period. Obviously, it will be “cooler” in the shaded upper valleys at this time of year with maximums not exceeding +4/+7 degrees locally.
However, the sun will be there but the low clouds tend to reach a good part of the Alpes-Maritimes, sparing only Haut-Mercantour. Thanks to the clear sky, the refreezing of the snowpack remained good the following night despite the high 0 degree isotherm.
