France has incredible talent offered this Wednesday October 27 its last evening of auditions on M6. A final handful of candidates presented themselves in front of Éric Antoine, Marianne James, Sugar Sammy and Hélène Ségara to try to qualify for the quarter-finals. This first phase of selection was crowned with success: every week, the evenings of the program offered M6 good audiences, even exceeding 4 million viewers when counting the replay. A real success for the channel which did not expect so much after 19 years of good and loyal service. As Love is in the meadowthe show benefits from a reserve of devotees who are there every week. During this very last round of auditions, the jury was confronted with a surprising situation.
“I didn't understand your number” : A candidate of France has incredible talent 2024 collects four red crosses but…
As is often the case, Grégoire Gouby's number begins before he introduces himself. The 28-year-old presents a wacky performance of grimaces to the tune of Can-can (the Galop infernal from Offenbach's opera Orpheus in the Underworld): a confusing moment for the four members of the jury. “It's rubbish!“, exclaims Éric Antoine with a laugh. The red crosses follow one another and prematurely interrupt the number. Until then hidden by a large panel, Grégoire presents himself in a classic blue shirt and young fluorescent shorts in front of the jury. A surprising outfit which greatly amuses the public and the quartet. “You are too modern for me, you are too 2050. You are so avant-garde that I didn't understand your number“, explains Marianne James. In front of her, Grégoire Gouby gives a series of hilarious answers.
“You are amazing!“: Grégoire Gouby delights the jury after his failed performance in France has incredible talent 2024
Hélène Ségara then asks him to introduce himself. “I am a professional grimacer, I am paid by the State to accept all faces, to fight against exaggerated aestheticism“, he begins, creating a certain hilarity. “Obviously, I do lots of other jobs, I'm also a blood orange trainer, an ice cube sculptor in a nightclub, manager of an orphanage for unique socks, a tree therapist… And a professional actor of course“, he continues with derision. A unique presentation that engages the members of the jury. “Honestly, it's funny what you just did“, remarks Éric Antoine, immediately supported, in his own way, by Sugar Sammy: “What you do when you get rejected is the magic“. Once the sarcasm is over, the Quebec comedian adds: “You should come back with a stand up act“. A remark that the candidate caught immediately: “I swear I'm doing something crazy for you… Don't kick me out!“, hoping to be selected for the jury deliberation phase. Éric Antoine outbids us: “Every valve you hit after the four crosses was excellent. I find the personality cool. The number wasn't great, but you are amazing!“. When giving their verdict, Marianne James explains: “Today, it's no, but I'm sure you'll show up again“. A unanimity which resulted in three “No” and one “Yes” of encouragement from Hélène Ségara, with, in addition, an invitation to come back! An unexpected decision!
