This structure which will bring together the different actors was launched this week.

Haute-Savoie now has a new tool to combat violence against women: a departmental observatory.

Rising numbers

Every year, 850,000 women die at the hands of their partners around the world. In , one woman dies every 3 days, while in Haute-Savoie, 1,632 women were victims of violence last year.

The existing structures gathered around this observatory

The figures are alarming and continue to increase from year to year. The Haute-Savoie department therefore continues to mobilize in this fight against violence against women. 4 years after the adoption of a plan, a departmental observatory is now being created.

An emergency number

For all women victims of violence, an emergency call number is in place. This is 39 19 which is valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Support for victims in Haute-Savoie

The observatory will bring together all existing structures around a common objective: that of amplifying prevention and supporting victims to help them rebuild their lives. There are already around twenty similar initiatives in France.
