Organized by Jokkolabs and USAID, the closing day of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 (GEW2024) was held this Wednesday, November 27 at the Grand Théâtre de Dakar, under the inspiring theme “Entrepreneurship for all!” “. And all also for an enterprising and innovative Senegal by 2050.

This edition was a real success, bringing together 65 organizations and mobilizing actors in 12 regions and 20 cities, with more than 100 activities organized across Senegal.

During his speech, Karim Sy, founder of Jokkolabs, welcomed the support received, in particular the inspiring message from the former Prime Minister and High Representative of the Head of State, Ms. Aminata Touré, addressed to youth, particularly women . She encouraged them to actively engage in entrepreneurship to contribute to the social and economic development of the country. According to Karim Sy:

“To meet current challenges, it is essential to perform, realize your dreams and move forward collectively. Together, we can make Senegal move. »

For his part, Babacar Sané Ba underlined Senegal’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, with strong involvement of ministries such as those of Foreign Affairs, Industry, Agriculture and Health. He recalled that the vision of the new authorities for 2050 is based on dynamic and enterprising youth, capable of making significant progress:

“Entrepreneurship is an essential lever for creating wealth, jobs and ensuring the training of young people, essential conditions for the success of this vision. »

The closing day reinforced the idea that entrepreneurship, as a driver of development, plays a central role in the economic and social transformation of Senegal.
