The chase ended with the hospitalization of a municipal police officer. This Tuesday at the end of the afternoon, a motorist chased after a refusal to comply by two municipal police officers from Colombes hit one of the two officers, injuring his legs, which forced his colleague to open fire. .
It was around 4:45 p.m. this Tuesday when this motorist was stopped in Colombes by the national police at Avenue Kléber. The driver of the Peugeot 307 refused to comply and fled at high speed towards the town of Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise).
The national police officers, who do not have a motorized brigade, then call on the municipal police (PM) to chase the fugitive at this time, when traffic is heavy. Two PM bikers then pursue the driver.
After a few minutes of chase, the suspect crosses the Colombes bridge and passes into the town of Argenteuil, where he tries to hide in a parking lot. Insufficient to fool the two agents on his trail.
After spotting him, one of them puts his two-wheeler across the path to block his way and prevent him from leaving the parking lot. The driver then rushed towards the police officer and allegedly hit him twice. Seeing his colleague in danger, the other municipal police officer then used his service weapon once again.
A shot which did not prevent the suspect from fleeing. Still on the run at the time of writing, he is actively sought by law enforcement. Injured in the legs, the overthrown police officer was transported to the Louis Mourier hospital in Colombes, from which he was released in the evening. He was prescribed 15 days of ITT.
“We see that the municipal police of Colombes know how to take risks and work in good coordination with the national police,” commented the mayor of Colombes Patrick Chaimovitch (Les Écologues).
This is in fact not the first time that police officers have been targeted in Colombes. In April 2020, two police officers were seriously injured after being struck by a motorist, who crushed a national police motorcyclist against a municipal police car.
