The fifth city of Tarnwith just under 11,000 inhabitants, has nothing to envy of larger municipalities in the department. Between the hospital, a Pierre Fabre lab site, an old cathedral and always rich festivities, Lavaur has a heritage, an economy, services and activities that not everyone can claim. But there is also an area in which the city competes with larger municipalities : the Telethon.

The program for this event aimed at raising funds to fight rare diseases has been revealed and it is strong. With a theme like “Achievement Builder!” ”, obviously, we had to think big. Lavaur therefore responded.

With, already, a large village on Saturday November 30, 2024, around the Halle aux Grainsplace Stalingrad.

Dozens of bikers

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the heart of Lavaur will beat to the rhythm of solidarity with a busy schedule: mini funfairquad for children (4 to 10 years old), demonstration of Kdance schoolanimation bikeinitiation au archerysale of cakes and objects… There will also be a solidarity aperitif offered by the town hall at midday followed by the arrival of… dozens of bikers!

But other days will not be left out. Like Friday, November 29, which will see a fencing tournament at the fencing hall on avenue Augustin-Malroux (at 7 p.m.). Or the concert of gospelimmediately, at 9 p.m. at the grain market (Holy Family).

From Saturday November 23, there will be a boxing tournament for children (from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the boxing gym, avenue Augustin-Malroux. On November 26, a fencing tournament, again. The next day, Wednesday November 27, a hiking (from 8:30 a.m., with a route of 8 or 10 km starting from Place de la Résistance). Sunday 1is December, a lottery (2 p.m.). On Wednesday, December 4, a soup sale and a solidarity walk. On Sunday, December 8, a cross race organized in Clauzades…

A castle is going to be built!

But that's not all. Because above all there will be the “Build a castle” operation. From November 29 and until the end of December this original solidarity operation in partnership with Médical'Oc will involve residents to, as its name suggests, build a castle. The idea is simple: everyone will be able to participate in the construction of a castle by adding bricks (at a price of €4 to €5).

“These will be bricks printed on A4 sheets of paper cut in half. Or two bricks per A4 sheet. Each person will be able to sign their brick or write a little note on it before it is placed on the window,” specifies the person who directs the Vraithon, Catherine Renault, at Occitanie News.
