It's a colossal multi-year project modernization which resumed this Monday, November 25, 2024 in the city center from Alès (Gard).
Several months
Work to modernize the roads of the Main street Jean Moulin in the center of Alès (Gard) started again on Monday November 25, 2024 for a long second phase. They should last almost 3 months.
According to the technical services of the Gard city, this construction session should last approximately three months. However, no precise schedule has been made public.
Several modifications
Since Monday morning, access to the streets located between that of La Meunière and Comandant Audibert as well as the surface parking in this area of the city are strictly prohibited. Only local residents will be authorized.
Ultimately, traffic in this artery of the Alesian city center will be definitively reduced. one way. To achieve this, the sidewalks will be widened. Pedestrian crossings will be added.
A plant strip will soon be carried out at the foot of the buildings located near the Gardon.
As a reminder, the first phase of this long project was launched in 2023 and ended at the end of spring 2024. Max Roustan, mayor of Alès, and Christophe Rivenq, President of Alès Agglomération had inaugurated the portion of the Grand'rue Jean Moulin directly affected by this work, Friday August 2, 2024.
