The day after the demonstration which brought together more than 3,000 people in Nantes (Ille-et-Vilaine) against the end of regional cultural subsidies, 200 Mayenne cultural actors gathered at 6par4 to “think about common actions to change this policy, announces Yann Bieuzent, on behalf of the collective created for the occasion. We want to be constructive. Our local mobilization is intended to complement what is being done nationally. » “In Mayenne, we are talking about €900,000 in regional subsidies, which will not simply decrease but disappear”, recalls Anne-Sophie Denou, employee of Lecture en tête.
“Three weeks to act”
A meeting lasting a little over an hour, which resulted in the decision to question the seven regional elected officials of Mayenne on the subject. A communication campaign is also planned “so that people realize concretely what €900,000 less represents”, continues Yann Bieuzent.
“We have three weeks to act, because the vote on the Region’s budget takes place on December 19 and 20,” recalls the one who is also director of the Poc Pok association, which manages the 6par4/Les 3 elephants room.
