The board of directors of the Syndicat Mixte d'Electrification du (SMEG) unanimously appointed Aimé Cavallé as new president.

This election marks the desire to continue the action of the late Roland Canayer, emblematic president of the union, who recently died.

Gard Rhodanien was represented at this meeting by several elected officials: Pascal Perrieres, mayor of Chusclan; Ellian Petit Jean, mayor of Saint-Michel-d’Euzet; Olivier Jouve, mayor of Saint-Génies-de-Comolas; and Maxime Couston, first deputy mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze.

SMEG, a major player in electrification and ecological transition in Gard, manages a budget of 70 million euros. Its skills include public lighting, electric charging stations and new technologies promoting the ecological transition. Both active in urban and rural areas, the union supports local authorities in technical studies, the search for subsidies and the completion of projects on the ground.

With Aimé Cavallé at its head, SMEG intends to continue to respond to the department's energy and environmental challenges while honoring the memory of Roland Canayer, whose commitment left its mark.
