“Whether for bluetongue serotype 3 (BFT); of the MHE (epizootic hemorrhagic disease which affects cattle, Editor’s note) and avian influenza for poultry, our animals in Mayenne are rather spared from these diseases”, welcomes Stéphane Guioullier, president of the Chamber of Agriculture. Six cases of FCO and almost as many cases of MHE were recorded. In Mayenne, the State covers the cost of vaccination against FCO 3. “I think that all the sheep in Mayenne are vaccinated”, estimate Stéphane Guioullier and Philippe Carteron, consular delegate. For the MHE on the other hand, it is up to the breeders to pay.

Mapping photovoltaic sectors

The Chamber of Agriculture draws up a map in Mayenne to determine the land that has lost its agricultural use (former landfill, for example) and likely to accommodate photovoltaic panels at ground level. Even if the rule is as follows for the bedroom: “Photovoltaics must be positioned on roofs. Not in the fields”, underlines Stéphane Guioullier and Philippe Carteron. The Mayenne ground photovoltaic map must be submitted to the prefect by December. What is enacted by the State will be binding on everyone, after public consultation.
