The criminal court of Libourne (Gironde) recently found a 34-year-old man guilty of “aggravated violence and death threats” against his ex-girlfriend and sentenced him to two years in prison, including six months suspended. After his girlfriend, with whom he had been in a relationship for a month, had announced to him that she was ending the relationship, the defendant hit her, got into his car and mowed down the young woman, who received a 60-day ITT. The accused took her to the hospital, where he forced her to tell the caregivers that she had fallen from her scooter.
The accused denies
Later, the victim contacted an association and recounted the facts, reports the local daily. At his trial, the defendant denied the violence. He admitted to having left his former partner insulting messages, which he explained by his alcoholic state, which, he assured, prevented him from remembering all the alleged facts.
