Weather report – Despite the very short break of blue skies and seasonal temperatures that the Belgians were treated to over the past week, here comes the grey skies and clouds once again. The weather forecast by the Royal Meteorological Institute does not bode well. A big disappointment for those who were waiting the return of the sun with impatience.
The summer season has barely begun, but the weather forecast are not very encouraging. The weather and temperatures of the last few weeks have nothing to do with the usual month of June, and even less with the month of July.
Rain and gloom in the middle of July
This Tuesday afternoon, the IRM announced a grey and humid weather which will persist for the next few days. This end of the day will be marked by clearings and risk of thunderstormswith temperatures too low for the season, fluctuating between 13 and 16 degreesDuring the evening and night, the sky will remain overcast and temperatures could drop to 5 degrees in the Ardennes.
For Wednesday, The grayness and bad weather will continue. Fog banks will be present on the heights of Belgium, while significant precipitation will fall on the western and northwestern regions of the country. The other regions will not be spared and will have to wait until the afternoon to enjoy slightly more stable weather from the west, with maximums between 12 and 19 degrees. During the evening and night, temperatures will not drop below 10 degrees.
On Thursday, some clear spells will cross the Belgian sky from the far west, despite some clouds and light showers at times. The maximums will vary between 14 and 20 degrees with moderate to strong winds on the coast, where gusts could reach 70 km/h.
Improvement expected for the weekend
Finally, good news for the Belgians : Better weather conditions are expected from next Monday. In the meantime, we will have to spend another weekend divided between fog and sun in the forecast of calmer weather.
Next weekend should mark the return of the beautiful season. Despite some showers forecast for Saturday morning, clear and sunnier skies are expected in the afternoon. Highs could reach 22 degrees, but the wind will remain present. Sunday, the sun will be present with temperatures similar to the day before, but with less intense gusts.
