The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended trading in negative territory on Tuesday, with its flagship index, the MASI, falling by 0.44% to 13,245.01 points (pts). The MASI.20, an index of the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.29% to 1,069.94 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the highest ESG ratings, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.24% to 966.38 pts.

For its part, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, a thematic index which calculates the performance of the prices of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, lost 0.98% to 1,195.97 points.

On the international front, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid fell by 0.03% to 12,319.83 points, and 0.27% to 11,047.75 points respectively.

In terms of sectors, the health index recorded the highest increase (+8.52%), ahead of the beverage index (+5.28%) and that of distributors (+1.73%).

On the other hand, the engineering and industrial equipment goods index suffered the biggest drop (-4.01%), followed by the real estate investment trusts index (-1.80%) and the materials, software and IT services index (-1.67%).

The overall trading volume stood at 260.19 million dirhams (MDH) on the Central Market (Shares). This volume was dominated by transactions on BCP (86.69 MDH), Akdital (59.57 MDH) and SODEP-Marsa Maroc (29.40 MDH). As for the market capitalization, it reached 690.45 billion dirhams (MMDH).

On the stock front, the biggest falls were recorded by IB Maroc.com (-9.70% to 30.16 dirhams (DH)), Stroc Industrie (-8.31% to 32 DH), Wafa Assurance (-6.36% to 3,931 DH), Fenie Brossette (-5.49% to 98.01 DH) and Colorado (-5.42% to 50.06 DH).

On the other hand, Akdital (+8.52% at 771 DH), Société des Boissons du Maroc (+6.17% at 2,600 DH), Maghreb Oxygène (+5.88% at 216 DH), TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc (+2.83% at 1,418 DH) and Label Vie (+2.27% at 4,500 DH) recorded the best performances.
