An investigation is underway after the complaint filed in Saint-Pierre by a resident of who says he was the victim of a scam. A former executive specializing in administration and finance, he responded in 2022 to a job advertisement published by an international import-export company which claimed to be in the process of being created, indicates Meeting The 1st Monday November 25, 2024.

The complainant was offered a position with a high salary and numerous benefits and, like five other executives, he signed a permanent contract in January 2023. The executives, however, did not receive their first salary, nor the following ones, so that they were working. Only the complainant and one of his colleagues remained, our colleagues explain.

Previous scams

The CEO, who has in fact already been convicted for similar acts, highlighted administrative problems linked to banks in Luxembourg, where he claimed his previous company was based. The company's judicial liquidation was declared in November 2023. The employee debt guarantee scheme, however, did not pay a cent to the former executive, who is now a beneficiary of the RSA.
