“We are pleased to inform you that your town hall offers residents the possibility of benefit from a holiday voucher for the current year.” This is a letter which several residents of Mée-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne) received, with the city hall logo. But it is indeed a scam ! The municipality calls for vigilance.

A real fake paper!

And simple mail in the mailbox, in the colors of the town hall from Mée-sur-Seine, was found in the homes of several residents of the commune. This seems harmless, but immediately, several of them have doubted its veracity.

The letter urges residents to send confidential documents : identity document, tax notice, proof of address; in exchange for a Holiday Voucher from 400 to 600 euros. But the town hall confirms to The Republic of Seine-et-Marne that they are not not originally of this message and were keen to immediately warn the population through their social networks.

“We must encourage people who are victims to file a complaint to the municipal policies or to the police nationale. The people who received this mail do not appear to be targeted. It is randomly distributed“, indicates the town hall.
