ADVISOR, COMMUNICATION, PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MEDIA RELATIONS ADVISOR

TEMPORARY POSITION APPROXIMATELY SIX (6) MONTHS FULL-TIME

PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

CITIZEN RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT

Reporting to the immediate superior, the incumbent is responsible for developing communication plans for the projects assigned to him and ensuring the collaboration of the team in its implementation. He masters the various mandates entrusted and makes strategic recommendations to his clients.

  • Provide an advisory role to internal or external entities in compliance with the City’s objectives and challenges;
  • Develop strategies and ensure their implementation for both internal and external audiences;
  • Write messages or tools while ensuring linguistic quality and respect for the brand image and values ​​of the City;
  • Coordinate the work of external collaborators and monitor the budgets of the projects under his/her responsibility;
  • Collaborate in the development and application of policies, standards and processes related to its field of activity;
  • Carry out monitoring and issue recommendations to achieve objectives and provide greater influence to the City;
  • Participate in the analysis of the impact of the various campaigns, write reports, assessments and issue recommendations to your immediate superior;
  • Ensure monitoring of best practices and municipal issues;
  • Receive, analyze and respond to media requests;
  • Act as a public affairs consultant, spokesperson and support for expert spokespersons;
  • Organize public events and act as master of ceremonies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in communication with a specialization in digital communication, public relations or journalism or other appropriate discipline;
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in similar roles;
  • Knowledge of municipal or public sector organizations is a significant asset;
  • Be available outside regular working hours to carry out certain mandates (dates known in advance).

The annual salary range for this job is between $66,429 and $89,528.
