The 2024-2025 Champions Cup started somewhat in Cardiff, this Tuesday, July 2, 2024, with the draw for the group stage. The format of the previous season having been renewed, La Rochelle is in a group of six, group n°2, with Clermont (France), Bristol, Bath (England), Benetton Treviso (Italy) and… Leinster (Ireland). Having been largely defeated in Dublin in the quarter-finals on April 13 (40-13), the Rochelais will therefore meet the Irish again this year.
No match against Clermont
The challenge for the Bagnards will be to avoid the last place in the group (eliminatory) or the fifth, synonymous with passage to the Challenge Cup. On the other hand, if the order of the matches is not yet defined, the latter know that they will not face ASM Clermont Auvergne. The competition will begin on the weekend of December 6, 7 and 8, and will end with the final in… Cardiff, on Saturday May 24, 2025.
