For 36 years, the baby swimming activity of the Club Omnisport de Kerentrech (COSK), in Lorient, has allowed hundreds of children to discover the joys of water and learn the basics of swimming. “Unfortunately, due to a persistent lack of staff, we are forced to put an end to this activity, regrets Chantal Chenebaud, president of Cosk. It is a difficult decision that we made after careful consideration, taking into account the interests of the children and the viability of the section.”

A picnic for the last session

To end this chapter in style, the members organized a picnic on Sunday, June 30 after the swimming session. “It was an opportunity to get together, share memories and celebrate the benefits of the baby swimming activity,” added the president. “We also had the pleasure of welcoming former participants who attended the section many years ago. Even if the baby swimming activity disappears, the memories and learning it has helped build will remain engraved in the minds of the children and their parents. This experience will have been a valuable springboard for their development and fulfillment.”

If the section disappears, the COSK remains dynamic and offers many other activities for all ages: climbing, artistic gymnastics, badminton and hiking.
