Police officers from Rodez, Millau and Decazeville will reinforce the Parisian workforce as part of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will officially kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, with the opening ceremony set to take place on the Seine River until the night. The events will then continue for nearly a month, until August 11, in France and mainly in the capital.

There will be a bit of Aveyron in the organization of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: 79 police officers from the police stations of Rodez, Millau and Decazeville will take turns in the capital to carry out security missions this summer. On Monday, July 1, 2024, ten of them have already set off for Paris.

35,000 police officers and gendarmes in the Paris region

The Ministry of the Interior recalls that at the height of the 2024 Olympic Games, 35,000 police officers and gendarmes will be called upon in the Paris region to maintain the security system over the long term. “Drones, equestrian brigades, mobile forensic science laboratories… All the specific resources of the national police will be deployed. Many innovations have been developed, such as the creation of a language guide to help police officers communicate with foreign visitors.”
