A vehicle that was parked in the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal was a total loss following an arson attack on it during the night of Monday to Tuesday.
Around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Claude-Henri-Grignon Street, near Pierre-Daviault Street, where a vehicle was engulfed in flames.
After the firefighters intervened, an incendiary object was found in the vehicle.
Damage to the property is minor. The circumstances surrounding this fire are currently unknown.
said officer Caroline Chèvrefils, who is spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department (SPVM).

The investigation into this event has been transferred to the arson unit of the Montreal police force.
Investigators from the SPVM will arrive at the scene during the day on Tuesday to analyze the scene and try to shed light on the circumstances of this arson.
Authorities reported no arrests in the case as of Tuesday morning.
