In Senegal, the women’s commission of the collective “AND SAMM JIKKO YI” expressed its discontent with the outfit of Marie Elisa Audrey Diatta, alias D. Freezy, during the music festival. The commission filed a complaint against the artist for having “shocked” the public with a show described as “exhibitionism” and similar to a scene from a pornographic film.

According to the commission, the artist performed on stage “almost naked”, with the complicity of national television, accused of reaching an unprecedented level of “moral decay”. The complaint was filed with the public prosecutor by the members of the commission who considered this event “particularly serious”.

Ndèye Fatou Diop and her colleagues urged the authorities to take severe measures to prevent the outraged population from seeking to take justice into their own hands, citing threatening arrests received from all sides. For them, this attack on morals and morality does not correspond to Senegal’s values.

They consider it an attack on intrinsic values and that their nation, founded on civic-mindedness and restraint, does not deserve such a spectacle, widely broadcast on social networks, with deplorable consequences, especially for young audiences.
