A flamboyant and self-deprecating duo, THISISPAIN celebrates the universal power of flamenco and builds bridges between cultures. He deconstructs the clichés of this Iberian dance to let himself go and love movement and bodies for what they are: free! He describes himself as a tourist from contemporary dance who came to visit the world of flamenco. Hillel Kogan immersed himself and trained for a year in flamenco. So quickly and so well that we only see fire when he is alongside Mijal Natan, a renowned flamenco dancer. Between games of trains and fans, Mijal and Hillel bring to life a spoken, sung, danced duo that unfolds like an illustrated ABC of Spain, the one that cannot be reduced to clichés with polka dot dresses and ruffles, guitars, bullfights and siestas… A joyful brainstorming session, between two kicks of the heels and three of the broom. Olé!
