Coup d’pousse gardeners on a visit

Chatillon-en-Bazois. New Helping Hand visiting. Around fifteen gardeners from Coup d’pousse met at the Place de la MJC to set off in a minibus (kindly provided by the Bazois social centre) to discover a cellar in Saint-Père and a château in Cher.

First stop in Saint-Père to visit the cellar of Julie Nérot, a young, passionate and exciting winemaker. A remarkable welcome to discover her wines from the Coteau-du-Giennois (white, rosé and red) with the use of her superb terrace to enjoy a packed lunch. After the comfort, head to Jalognes, in the Cher, to visit the Château de Pesselières with a magnificent romantic garden. A castle with a park with remarkable trees (Lebanese cedar, purple beech, etc.), with a three-hundred-year-old boxwood avenue, a topiary avenue, a vegetable garden and its flower orchard, but also a labyrinth of hornbeams. For the record, the park dates from the 18th century e century. However, important elements testify to the existence of a regular “French-style” park created at the end of the 17th century e century and maintained according to the rules of organic gardening.

Exhausted but happy gardeners from this beautiful day. A superb trip, perfectly organized by Jean-François.
