60-year-old man dies in fall from 9th floor, son in custody

A 28-year-old man was arrested on the night of Sunday to Monday, before being taken into custody, it has been learned
-17This man is suspected of having pushed his 60-year-old father, who died, into the void from the 9th floor of an apartment in the 14th arrondissement. Information confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The tragedy occurred in a building located at 14 rue de Gergovie. When emergency services and police arrived, the victim’s son had fled. The suspect was finally arrested a little later by police officers from the anti-crime squad (BAC) of the 10th arrondissement, rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin, after a device was put in place. A police officer was injured in the eye during this arrest.

The circumstances of the incident remain to be determined. The suspect is said to have a history of psychiatric illness, according to a source close to the case.

The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into homicide by an ascendant. The investigations have been entrusted to the police officers of the 3rd Judicial Police District (DPJ).
