DECRYPTION – After the failure of the presidential camp in the first round of the legislative elections, the former prime minister is not sure of keeping a Horizons group in the Assembly. Annoyed by this dissolution, he no longer feels bound and stands out by defending a neither-RN nor-LFI line in the second round.

The numbers come in one after the other, and they are not reassuring. This Sunday evening, in his office at the town hall of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime), Édouard Philippe discovers that his candidates in the legislative elections are not escaping the failure of the presidential camp, which only obtains 20.76% of the votes. His close friend Laurent Marcangeli, leader of the outgoing Horizons deputies, is overtaken by the National Rally (RN) in his constituency of Ajaccio.

A little later, at the time of the comebacks from the big cities, he learns that Pierre-Yves Bournazel, whom he went to support in Paris, is beaten by the Insoumis Aymeric Caron. Like him, several candidates are eliminated and others in an unfavorable ballot, when some manage to rise to the top thanks to their establishment.
