Immersive Art and Electricity

Following the opening in October 2023 of its new “Art & Electricity” space, the Electropolis Museum is pleased to present its new exhibition which highlights three immersive experiences in virtual reality, plunging visitors into the heart of electricity production through the eyes of contemporary artists.

This temporary exhibition, combining various immersion devices, is produced thanks to the support of EDF, the sponsor of the works. 10 million points, The Fabulous History of Electricity and sponsor of the work Energy.

In the program

  • 10 million points par Ferdinand Dervieux et Dimitri Daniloff
In this interactive experience, visitors will be transported into a fascinating universe, created by photogrammetry, where spaces, shapes and physical concepts materialize in reference to different states of energy. This interactive work, using a point cloud, offers, through an explosion of shapes and colors, a spectacular immersion in the various aspects of electricity production.
    Accessible from 12 years old.
  • The Fabulous History of Electricity by Clément Soulmagnon
A true artistic and dreamlike journey, this film traces the history of the invention of electricity, guided by the electricity fairy. The fairy first flies over Paris, the city of lights, then takes us on a journey around the great emblematic sites of the history of electricity and EDF. This virtual reality animated film was awarded at the World Media Festival in Hamburg in 2019.
    Accessible from 6 years old.
  • Energy by Ugo Arsac
In this documentary work, Ugo Arsac explores the monumental architecture of two EDF nuclear power plants based in Chinon and Civaux and the international research center on nuclear fusion Iter. From 3D scans, the visitor finds himself in subjective camera, in a stroll at the heart of these industrial cathedrals and questions himself, thanks to sound capsules from expert interviews, on the energy challenges of today and tomorrow.
    Accessible from 12 years old.
