A stone's throw from the park of the Palace of Versailles, a whole district is being built. Housing, but also a school, multipurpose room, gourmet hall and vegetable garden are on the program. With a major challenge: not to distort the view of its impressive neighbor.
For years it was a military barracks. Then after 2010; this land next to the castle park has become wasteland. The objective now is to transform it into a large mixed neighborhood, with housing, but also a school, hotel, gourmet market and vegetable garden. A small town within a town, located between Versailles and Saint-Cyr l'Ecole, which must not distort the majesty of one of the greatest monuments in the world.
To do this, the accommodation will not exceed the height of a R+2 building (Ground floor + 2 floors). In addition, a large plant barrier will be created to create a natural border between the castle park and the start of the residence.
The hotel in this new district has already been delivered and even served as accommodation for Paris 2024 staff during the equestrian events last summer. The first homes and the school will be operational from next year. The complete completion of the project is planned for the year 2028.
