A 16-year-old minor driving a stolen car refuses to comply and injures a cyclist

A 16-year-old teenager driving a car reported stolen was arrested following a refusal to comply, in Châtenay-Malabry (Hauts-de-Seine), we learned -17. In his escape, he knocked down and injured a 41-year-old cyclist. The minor was the subject of a search warrant as part of a murder investigation, specifies a source close to the case.

Shortly after noon, on rue Auguste-Mounié in Antony, a municipal police crew ordered a motorist to stop for a check. The teenage driver refused to stop and accelerated. “He took dangerous risks to flee the police, not hesitating to drive in the opposite direction.”the same source explains. Further on, the fugitive hits a parked vehicle and knocks down a woman on a bicycle who falls to the ground.

Cyclist evacuated to hospital in relative emergency

The suspect continued running and found himself stuck in a dead end, hitting a second parked vehicle. This time he runs away. Alerted during the chase, the national police officers found the teenager hiding in an equestrian center located rue de Saint-Leu in Châtenay-Malabry. Taken to the police station, he was placed in police custody. The cyclist was treated by firefighters and transported to Antony hospital in a state of relative emergency.

Checks showed that the teenager, already known to the police and residing in Laudun-l’Ardoise (Gard), was the subject of a search warrant since Saturday. During his first hearings, he allegedly stated that he refused to stop because he was driving a stolen vehicle. An investigation has been opened.
