Excrement thrown at Riom Penitentiary

A prisoner benefiting from a sentence adjustment in the semi-open unit verbally assaulted a female guard in the parking lot of the Riom Penitentiary Center on May 16. Following this incident, he was placed in a closed regime before returning to the semi-open unit.

On June 13, this same inmate attacked and threatened a guard in the semi-open unit. He was then sent to the disciplinary unit. For two days, he threatened the guards with death, then ended up throwing a tray of excrement at one of them.

The Clermont-Ferrand prosecutor’s office took him into custody and questioned him, and he denied any involvement. They decided to bring him before the prosecutor, and he was tried this afternoon in immediate appearance.

A fire broke out this Wednesday, around 3:50 p.m., in Saint-Germain-près-Herment, in a wood pellet production plant. The fifteen employees who were on the site were evacuated. None were injured. The fire affected a fine sawdust silo as well as a conveyor. Thirty-seven firefighters were mobilized to bring it under control.

Quad overturns, driver injured in La Chapelle-Laurent

The firefighters were alerted this Wednesday, around 1 p.m., of a quad accident at the place called “Chaliac”, in La Chapelle-Laurent. The high mountain gendarmerie platoon of Murat and the firefighters of Massiac managed to reach the victim, a 56-year-old man suffering from back and hip injuries. As the place was very difficult to access, the Dragon 63 civil security helicopter was dispatched to the scene to winch the fifty-year-old and transport him to the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital.

Gas leak causes several evacuations in Aurillac

A gas leak was detected this Tuesday on rue Francis-Fesq in Aurillac. A pipe was apparently punctured during an intervention on a construction site.
